I’ve always been a list maker, planner, and orchestrator of events – be it the surprise party, group backpacking trip, or the friends annual reunion. This passion for planning inadvertently lead me to my first career, event production. Producing concerts and bringing the joy of music to individuals and community lit up my heart for years, however a cascade of tragic events with complex financial undertones shook me into wanting to have a more direct impact on the lives of others. What emerged from the combined dust of tragedy, a love of planning, and acquisition of my Master of Business Administration, was a clear career path in financial planning and advisory services. Empowering others, in particular those who have been thrown the curveball of death, divorce, or sudden financial restructuring, is a passion near and dear to my heart. Couple this with the inherent cheerleader, coach, and advocate in me, and what you get is an eager, engaged, and empathetic advisor.
Before joining BSW as Associate Advisor, I cut my teeth in the industry serving a variety of positions (operations associate, financial planning associate, and junior advisor) at a neighboring registered investment advisor. Prior to that, I worked in the local non-profit behavioral health space, as well as the non-profit performing arts space. I transplanted from the Bay Area, CA, for undergrad at the University of Colorado, Boulder, in 2002 where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Spanish for the Professions, as well as a minor in Business Administration. And although the ocean called on me, the great expanse of the Rocky Mountains captured my heart and I never looked back.
Away from the office you can find me exploring the mountains (ideally the western slope) by bike, ski, or foot. And when not in the middle of nature (but ideally when in the middle of nature) I surround myself with as much live music and loved ones as possible – including my sisters, niece, and friends.
