With excitement and a heavy heart, it is our honor to announce that longtime BSW team member Elias Bachmann will be moving to Switzerland this July and winding down his role with the firm. A dual US- and Swiss-citizen, Elias’ move is the realization of a lifetime goal to relocate with his young family to Switzerland.
During his +15-year tenure with BSW, Elias has served as a trusted Portfolio Manager to BSW clients, Managing Director of BSW’s Investment Group, Director of Private Investments and, most recently, Director of Real Assets. Elias became BSW’s eighth shareholder in 2020 and his tireless efforts to enhance BSW’s investment offering and processes has been a key driver of success for clients and the firm. Further, Elias played a critical role in both recruiting BSW’s new Director of Investments and segmenting investment responsibilities across asset class Directors to ensure a seamless transition for clients and the firm.

Beyond his professional contributions, Elias’ sparkplug energy, infectious enthusiasm, and legendary joie de vivre (including his lip synch performance of Elvis’ “Hound Dog” at 2024’s holiday party!) will be both sorely missed and fondly remembered.
Family Bachmann (Elias, spouse Trish, 8yo son Mattias, and 6yo fraternal twins Macquel and Marlo) will be moving to the canton of Schwyz – south of Zurich and north of Lucerne. Fluent in Swiss-German, Elias has raised his kids bilingually and he and Trish feel that now, while the kids are in elementary school, is an ideal time to immerse the family in the language and rhythms of Switzerland.
Elias’ love of Switzerland was kindled by summers spent on his Uncle’s rural Swiss farm.
