March is B Corp Month
Organizations around the world are celebrating what it means to be a Certified B Corporation by raising awareness around why B Corps are better for employees, the community, customers, and the environment — the stakeholders that influence everyday operations.
What is B Corp Certification?
B Corp is the crème de la crème of ethical business credentials. Since its establishment in 2006, more than 100,000 businesses have attempted the B Corp Impact Assessment (BIA); only 4,787 have achieved certification.
How’s that for high standards?
The BIA is complex and comprehensive, measuring an organization’s performance in five categories: governance, workers, customers, community, and the environment. Maintaining high standards? No problem, every three years companies are required to recertify.
Why does the B Corp certification matter?
Buying from, working for, and doing business with B Corps allows you to vote with your dollars. Choosing a B Corp-certified wealth management firm like BSW Wealth Partners means you’re investing in a company committed to high ethical standards in governance, environmental sustainability, and community impact. By choosing brands that continue to do things better or, in BSW’s case, Make Life Better, you are choosing to use business as a force for good. B Corporations seek to have the highest standards for how we treat our people, our natural resources, and our community. Money is power and when you choose to support a B Corp you are supporting the type of business and economy you want to succeed.
BSW Wealth Partners recertified in 2020, achieving 140.2 points on the B Corp Impact Assessment. With this rating, BSW is now the number one ranked B Corp in the investment advisor category in Colorado and the Mountain West region. BSW Wealth Partners has been named a Best for the World™ B Corp, ranking in the top 5% of all B Corps worldwide for our sustainable business practices. Out of 4,787 Certified B Corporations on the planet, BSW was assessed as ‘Best for the World’ in two categories: Customers and Workers.
